Appcompanist is a comprehensive tool that provides classical and musical theater singers, voice teachers, choral directors, and choristers with complete control over piano accompaniments for their performances. With a wide selection of beautiful accompaniments, users can easily transpose, adjust tempo, blend melody in and out during play, hold fermatas, and more without compromising on the musical quality. You can even save your tempo and fermata changes to create customized versions of the accompaniments.


The app offers over 850 vocal exercises for free, along with 11 complete sample accompaniments that allow you to experience all the features of the app. In addition, the library of Appcompanist is rapidly growing and includes thousands of arias, art songs, musical theater solos, jazz standards, spirituals, choral works, and more. Many new accompaniments are added every month based on user requests.


Appcompanist comes with a range of useful features including instant key transposition with no loss of audio quality, adjustable tempo during play to suit any interpretation or set a new tempo at any time, melody guide track that can be turned on or off in three different octaves and adjusted against the accompaniment, ability to hold and sustain the accompaniment with accurate timing for musical pauses or recitatives, option to check the next melody pitch when stopped and start in sync with the accompaniment, creation of custom versions that can be controlled like the original accompaniment, addition of markers, cuts, an loops for easy navigation and practice.


For vocal exercises that need repeating, there is an option to choose the direction (up, down, or same key) prior to each repeat. The app also allows you to create video recordings while maintaining full musical control. Other features include setting a countdown timer to delay playback start from any point in the accompaniment, keyword search and sorting of the library for easy navigation, creation and editing of playlists, and the ability to share songs, custom versions, and playlists with other subscribers.


Choral accompaniments offer the option to select one or more voice parts to emphasize against the accompaniment, facilitating easy part learning. Choral directors can subscribe to a special plan that allows them to instantly create and share part-learning tracks with their choristers who can then play and control them using the free version of the app.


Subscription plans are available for different categories of music. The prices listed are in US dollars, but they will be converted to your local currency based on current exchange rates. There are options for musical theater/popular titles only, classical titles only, or a complete collection of all titles. Each subscription plan comes with a one-month free trial for new subscribers. If you cancel your subscription within that period, you will not be charged. If you continue with the subscription, your paid plan will begin at the end of the trial and renew automatically.


There is also a "Pick-Six" subscription plan that allows you to choose any 6 songs from the complete collection and access them as often as you like during your monthly term. You can change your selections at the beginning of each new monthly term. With this plan, you can have a maximum of 6 selected songs during any monthly billing period. Please note that the Pick Six subscription does not include a free trial.


For choral directors, there is a separate subscription plan that includes unlimited access to the complete collection of solo repertoire and the choral library. It also allows unlimited sharing of part-learning tracks that can be played using the free version of Appcompanist. The choral director subscription is available for an annual fee.


Payment for subscriptions will be charged to your iTunes Account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal through your Account Settings after purchase.
